Building a house starts with the relationship between the home you want and the site where it will stand. The arrangement of rooms, connections with outdoor space and architectural and engineering decisions guide the work to be carried out.
Obra Lisboa builds houses in Greater Lisbon. Preparing for construction begins with the available site information and the designs that define the project. The scope needs to connect the different stages, identify responsibilities and make clear which decisions remain open.
When making an enquiry, gather the location, photographs of the site and any available drawings. Explain the current stage of the project and your priorities for using the house. If several versions of the drawings exist, identify the latest version and any changes still under discussion.
The proposal should make the planned work, specified materials and finishes, and outstanding choices easy to understand. Structural work, masonry, building services and finishes need a sequence consistent with the designs. Coordination between architecture, engineering and the construction teams helps organise those connections.
I own a plot but do not have a design yet. Where do I start?
You can share the location and describe the house you would like to build. Establishing what information is available and how far the project has progressed helps frame the initial conversation. Construction choices and the scope of execution then depend on the architectural and engineering decisions.
Are outdoor areas and all finishes included?
Each item included in the work should be stated in the proposal. Identify the outdoor areas and finishes you want considered, along with any items you intend to supply yourself. This separates included work from pending selections and interventions to be discussed individually.
